Mary Luton
Linda Mary Lubbe was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. She attended St Mary’s School for Girls before marrying Reverend Chris Lubbe in 1989, with whom she shared a life in the church. She was ordained as a deacon in 2000 and as a priest in 2005. Following her husband’s passing in 2007, she continued to serve her local churches and communities with dedication. She was appointed Archdeacon and in 2018 moved to the UK.
In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time in nature, with a particular love for birdwatching. She is also the author of several small publications in South Africa, including Sand in My Shoes, People Touched by Jesus, Celebrating the Good News, and Women in the Bible. Life in Limpopo (2025) offers a unique and personal account of her clerical experiences in a rural South African town.
Lubbe now lives in Gooderstone, Norfolk, where she serves as Vicar.
