Proof-reader / Freelance editor
As a traditional European publisher 25 years in the trade we are looking for freelance proof-readers to edit exciting and diverse manuscripts with polished finesse.
Tasks:
• Stylistical and orthographic revision of manuscripts in accordance with our internal publishing guidelines, always respecting the voice of the individual authors
• Drafting promotional texts (author biography, back cover text, media text) based on a given template
Requirements:
• Gifted with linguistic talent, excellent English spelling and grammar
• Passion for literature and pleasure in reading including basic knowledge of miscellaneous genres
• Studies in the fields of ELS, linguistics, humanities (e.g. comparative literature) are most valued – nevertheless bright candidates from other fields are welcome as well
• Reliability and timeliness are crucial traits when assigning and handling proof-reading tasks
