Peter Lewis Skippen

The author was born in Camberwell Road, London, in 1946 and moved to Peckham in 1947. He attended Camelot St. Primary school and then William Penn Secondary school and started a 5-year apprenticeship in dental technology in 1962. He married Paula in 1967 moving to a flat in Whitechapel. He has two children, Mat and Dan, born in 1971/2. The family bought a house in Upton Park in 1972, and then in 1981, the author started his own business, and they moved to a house in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, living there for some 23 years. In 2006, the author retired and the family downsized to a house in Leigh-on-Sea. Paula died 11 years later.
The author’s hobbies are making stained glass pictures, clocks, trophies, and anything in glass, and playing indoor short mat bowls.
