M W Banks
M W Banks divides his time between Malta and Devon, England. He attended the Cathedral School, Chichester, and the Nautical College, Pangbourne, and was commissioned into the Royal Marines direct from school. Four years of Royal Marines and Commando training followed. His specialist qualifications included Shallow Water Diver and, with the Fleet Air Arm, helicopter pilot and Qualified Helicopter Instructor.
On leaving the Royal Marines, he worked in the Scotch Whisky industry, and in management and fund raising in the charitable sector. His leisure and sporting interests include reading, aviation, volunteering with an historic house museum, skiing, swimming, golf and horse riding. He is widowed with one stepson.
