Born in Surrey in 1935, Alistair Paterson joined the navy as an officer cadet at age seventeen. He served on many ships and became a captain before retiring in 1990. He married Anne in 1956, had four children and lived overseas in Malaysia, Malta, Italy and the USA. Authorship has a strong place in the Paterson family history and following his retirement, he wrote three books which are soon to be published. Born in Bristol in 1947, Ian Peacock has already written several articles for financial magazines and is now publishing his first book, ‘Bankers: From Pillars to Pariahs’. Ian has had a long and varied career in banking, commerce and charities. He worked as a banker in London, New York and Hong Kong and was a special adviser to the Bank of England from 1998 - 2000.
