Paidamoyo Phillipa Jackson

With a degree in agricultural economics and farm management, Paidamoyo Phillipa Jackson is a lecturer with a love of history and teaching. Lucy Jefford

Lucy Jefford was born in 2007 in Hertfordshire, England. She is still a student today, and her latest book is titled ‘Elouise’, which she wrote when she was 13. Lucy won the 2020 Pearson’s Short Story Competition and earned a place in the ‘My Twist on A Tale’ short story competition’s anthology and wrote ‘The Four Realms Trilogy’ at the age of 11. Her favourite activities are writing and playing sports (especially hockey, netball, athletics and cricket). She also does ballet (having recently taken her Grade 6 exam) and plays the violin.

Magnus John

Magnus John was born in 1937 in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He moved to England in 1959 where he trained as a librarian. He worked in the civil service and thereafter at the Open University in Milton Keynes. After early retirement, he went back to work as director and head of the Institute of library, information and communication studies at the University of Sierra Leone until finally retiring in 2004. Magnus is a widower with two daughters and two grandchildren who he loves to spend time with. He enjoys travelling and reading.

Anthony R. Johnson was born in Stoke-On-Trent in the UK. He then attended Wolstanton Grammar School and went on to study to become a veterinary surgeon at the Royal Veterinary College in London. Anthony comes from a working-class family. He spent forty-two years as a Veterinary Surgeon; initially in Derby and Shrewsbury, followed by forty years in Crewe. Born in Staffordshire, Christine grew up happily in an anglo-irish family with her sister. She attended a catholic convent and grammar school and attained a BA Hons in Business Studies later in life.A single mother to her daughter, she has been in a happy relationship with her partner for the last 20 years.She has two grandchildren, Max aged 5 and Kristen aged 6 months. Born in London in 1930, Brian Jones attended grammar school, then studied engineering at technical college. Conscripted, he learned the trade of aircraft mechanic with the RAF. Later he took employment in the alkaline battery industry, leaving that in 1976 to become a self employed diesel alternator salesman and technical journalist. Georgie A. Jones was born in London to Welsh parents in 1950. After attending a then newly-founded comprehensive school in London, he trained as a primary school teacher. John Edward Bankole Jones was born in England in 1936. He is a coloured man, born illegitimately to an English mother and an African father from Sierra Leone. His mother did not acknowledge him as her son as so he was raised in multiple foster homes and finally an orphanage.
