Gerti Baldwin was born in Vienna in 1941. Spending her earlier years in poverty with her mother and siblings, after formal education she had various jobs including tailoring and office work. Michael T Bruce

Michael T Bruce left school in the late ‘70s with little or no qualifications. As no one back in the ‘70s knew how to teach dyslexic people, he taught himself to read and write. After working on a hill farm in Derbyshire where he developed a love for horses, he spent six years in the armed forces. Mentally scarred by his experience, he turned to writing as an antidote to his nightmares. Michel is now back working with horses and is lucky enough to own his own horse called Drum.
